Arantxa Echevarria’s feature film debut, “CARMEN Y LOLA”, has been selected for the 50th edition of Directors’ Fortnight which takes place during Cannes Film Festival. The film is one of the 17 features selected out of 1,609 films submitted.
The Spanish director and scriptwriter tells the story of two young gypsy girls who fight for their love against the injustice and discrimination of their families within a strong community where homosexuality is a taboo and being a woman brings an inherent difficult life.
The film is starred by a nonprofessional cast and will have its world premiere during this section which runs from May 8th to 19th.
Our best wishes for the continued success!
