This film is the long-awaited return to directing of Alejandro Agresti, one of the great names of recent Latin American cinema, winner of the Golden Shell at San Sebastian Film Festival, and who has been called upon by Hollywood several times, such as for THE LAKE HOUSE with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock. An emotional and intimate story of chimerical love, plenty of brilliant dialogues, and many moments full of magic, due to the fabulous chemistry between two veteran actors in a state of grace, Luis Rubio and Eleonora Wexler. The film is executively produced by Gastón Duprat, the director of the multi-awarded THE DISTINGUISHED CITIZEN and OFFICIAL COMPETITION. As usual in Agresti’s filmography, it includes a beautiful tribute to cinema as a dream factory, with codes that might remind the public of Linklater’s BEFORE SUNRISE trilogy.
Outside a movie theatre a man and a woman, the only two spectators of the screening, start talking and follow up the conversation in a nearby café. There, they will construct a fantasy world where they will become who they always wanted to be (a romantic novelist and an astronaut) and decide to meet every Thursday same time, same place. Slowly, being able to live as their true selves, they will fall in love… but once reality gets on its way they will have to see if they can stay also together in the real world.
