Drama. Directed by Ángeles Gonzalez-Sinde
After becoming a prestigious screenwriter thanks to titles like ‘Lágrimas negras’ (for which she won the Goya), ‘Las razones de mis amigos,’ and ‘Antigua vida mía,’ Ángeles González-Sinde made her directorial debut with this compelling story, co-written with novelist Belén Gopegui, about a tormented woman trying to overcome the deaths of her husband and son by devoting herself tirelessly to her work as a lawyer. Actress Adriana Ozores delivers an extraordinary performance in this film, and González-Sinde received the Goya Award for Best New Director.
A woman, in an attempt to avoid suffering after a traumatic loss, protects herself in the perfect bubble created by a routine job and a dull, quiet life until she is motivated to represent the plaintiffs in a lawsuit for compensation after a death. This process, which she tries to run away from at first, ends up becoming an obsession that brings her back to the world of “the living”.
