"Achero Mañas returns with an enthusiastic and happy vindication to normality."
This is the fifth feature movie by director Achero Mañas, who swept both critics and audiences with his debut film, “El Bola”, winner of four Goya awards, including Best Picture. With Tornasol Films in charge of production, here he proposes a refreshing road movie that supports individual freedom, the defense of one’s own principles, and consistency with oneself even if it means going against established conventions. When his mother dies, an eccentric theater director decides to fulfill her last wish and throw her body into the sea, despite it being illegal. He steals the coffin and sets off for the coast, accompanied by his teenage daughter, who thinks her father is crazy but during the trip realizes that maybe he is more normal than everyone thinks. Outstanding performance of the actor Ernesto Alterio, nominated for a Goya for his work in this film.
Ernesto’s mother wants her body to be cast into the sea once she passes away. Although it is illegal, when the day arrives Ernesto steals her coffin intending to honour her wishes. His daughter will accompany him and desperately try to change his mind. During the journey, she will discover that her father is far from crazy despite always going against everybody else’s opinion.
