A Croatian dramatic comedy spotlighting the microcosm of a neighbourhood community to present a parable about the animosities underlying the civil war in the former Yugoslavia, enduring tensions that persist to this day. Various individuals of different ethnicities, beliefs, and sexual identities find themselves compelled to assist one another despite the deep-seated hatred they harbour, ultimately culminating in a hymn to tolerance and the essence of humanity. The movie earned the title of Best Film at the Montreal Film Festival and received the Jury Prize at the Santa Barbara Film Festival.

Four very different people live in the same building but avoid each other because of their different lives, what they believe in, and where they come from. They would probably never exchange a word, but misfortune pushes them towards each other. Slowly, and even painfully, they begin to open up to each other and recognize the essential humanity they have.
