Before the rise of apps like Tinder and similar platforms, companies that organized quick dates between strangers in search of their soulmates became trendy. With a screenplay co-written by herself and Ángeles González-Sinde, filmmaker Daniela Féjerman recreates several of these dates, each lasting just 7 minutes, as the title suggests. Dialogues form the foundations of this ensemble romantic comedy with bitter edges, featuring a solid group of actors, including Goya Award winner Marta Etura and Toni Acosta, honored as Best Supporting Actress at the Málaga Film Festival.
“SEVEN MINUTES” is a romantic comedy about lonely people looking for love. Several characters with quite diverse stories and motivations coincide at a “speed dating” session where men andwomen can meet. Each man has seven minutes to speak to each woman, and vice versa. Then they all go home and vote online for the people they liked. If the votes coincide, the dating company sends them each other’s e-mail addresses and from then on, something may start happening…
