Thriller. Directed by Gerardo Herrero
A Spanish-Argentinian co-production directed by Gerardo Herrero, adapting Hugo Burel’s novel of the same name to the screen. A young executive, whose only escape from the stress he endures is running at nighttime, meets a disturbing man at an airport who proposes a change in lifestyle and begins to stalk him, in a plot with many similarities to Hitchcock’s ‘Strangers on a Train’ and an excellent cast. Miguel Ángel Solá portrays one of the most Mephistophelian characters of recent decades in this movie, and Leonardo Sbaraglia provides a fitting response.
Eduardo, manager of an insurance company, is under a lot of stress and that’s why he runs, especially when he is about to explode. One day, returning from an unsuccessful business trip, he meets a mysterious man at the airport who presents himself as a friend and benefactor and encourages Eduardo to change his life and be free. It is not just a simple suggestion: the man then pursues him relentlessly, going to inconceivable lengths to achieve his purpose. From then on, Eduardo’s life begins to slip into an ambiguous territory where all certainties fade, and it’s useless to run.
