MU-KI-RA

A heartfelt and exciting 2D animated film for the whole family. Visually and sonically striking, it blends vibrant backgrounds and magical character design with captivating musical numbers inspired by Afro-Caribbean and folk rhythms. Directed by Estefanía Piñeres in her debut, the film is a coproduction between Colombia’s Letrario and Spain’s Abano Produccions, winner of three Goya Awards for Best Animated Feature.

Cleo, 13, and her little brother Martín live in a world plagued by monsters that attack at night. When he is kidnapped by one of them, named Mu-Ki-Ra, Cleo ventures into the jungle to rescue him, with the help of an elderly witch and a mischievous anteater. Along the way, she uncovers the monsters’ secrets and learns they may not be as monstrous as everyone thinks.
