With a prior background in television production, Elías Siminiani made his directorial debut in feature films with this low-budget documentary. It is a sort of personal diary that narrates first-person situations from his own life, starting from the moment he quits working for the small screen industry and embarks on a journey to India with the intention of becoming a filmmaker. This unusual, provocative, brilliant, and amusing project was endorsed by the Avalon production company (which was subsequently awarded the Golden Bear Prize in Berlin with ‘Alcarrás’), and won the award for Best European Documentary at the Seville Film Festival. It was also a nominee for a Goya in its category.
Halfway between documentary and fiction, Map is a road movie told in first person about a young filmmaker who travels to India in search of a new «map» for love: for life.
