Absolute prominence of the great Carmen Maura in Gerardo Herrero’s first incursion into the screwball comedy genre as a director. With plenty of black humor, the film, set in the beautiful landscapes of the Canary Islands, tells the story of a widow who hires a hitman to eliminate her son-in-law when she finds out that he is unfaithful to her daughter. Pilar is an aging widow who is happy with her comfortable routine. She´s got her friend Angela, her daughter Marta… Only her son-in-law Gregorio, an electrician, drives her up the wall. At a gathering with her women friends, Pilar is told a secret: there is a man who can “fix” her annoying problem with Gregorio, the same man who “took care of” their respective annoying husbands.
