WHY WE LOVE IT
An emotionally charged blend of a road movie and coming-of-age narration about a very unique teenager who embarks on a journey across half of Europe to try to meet his idol, a legendary and enigmatic French painter. Along the way, he encounters all sorts of characters. This Bulgarian production, selected by the Rotterdam Film Festival, stars the rising Irish actor Barry Keoghan, who received an Oscar nomination for «Banshees of Inisherin».
SYNOPSIS
Light Thereafter is an exploration of the complex mind of an emotionally volatile and socially alienated young man, Pavel, who sets across Europe in search of his idol, the enigmatic painter Arnaud. Desperately lonely and adrift, Pavel tries to adhere to the host of characters he meets along the way – a journey that ultimately leads him on a path of self-discovery.
