A TWELVE-YEAR-NIGHT and MY MASTERPIECE have both been selected to the 75th Venice International Film Festival. Our warmest congratulations to all the team!
Last feature film A TWELVE-YEAR-NIGHT by Álvaro Brechner has been selected in the Orizzonti Section. The film is based on a true story, which could be summed up as 12 years of solitary confinement experienced by three of the best-know figures in contemporary Uruguay. They are here interpreted by three tremendous actors; Antonio De La Torre as “Pepe Mújica” -ex-President of Uruguay-, Chino Darín as “Mauricio Rosencof” -writer, poet, journalist and former Director of Culture in Montevideo- and Alfonso Tort as “Eleuterio Fernández Huidobro” -ex-Uruguayan Defence Minister-.
The new comedy by Gastón Duprat, MY MASTERPIECE, tells the story of a real friendship between a successful gallerist and a morose painter that everything dissociates. Both Argentinian actors Guillermo Francella and Luis Brandoni give a wonderful interpretation of the two caracters. The film will be presented out of Competition. This is not the first time that Gastón Duprat goes to la Biennale, in 2016 he won the Vittorio Veneto Film Festival Award for Best Film with THE DISTINGUISHED CITIZEN.
