KILLING JESUS has won the Roger Ebert Award in the Chicago International Film Festival. The film will be presented again as a part of Best of the Fest on Wednesday October 25.

Laura Mora’s film has been selected as the richest example of a quality Roger Ebert treasured in cinema. The story follows Paula who accidentally crosses paths with the hitman who killed her father. Driven by her frustration, the choice of revenge seems to be the only possible reaction.

The jury stated: “The film is wise and perceptive in its suggestion that empathy itself can serve as a form of catharsis.”

Mora portray Medellin’s total authenticity with rawness. With the use of natural actors and a handy camera the film is full with intensity.
