Five-time Goya-nominated and considered one of the masters of contemporary Spanish comedy, to the point of being dubbed the Woody Allen from Madrid, thanks to iconic and hugely successful films such as PAPER TIGERS, ESTOY EN CRISIS, and LA VIDA ALEGRE, Fernando Colomo continues to work tirelessly, on the verge of turning 80, with the same energy as always. The script for his twenty-fourth feature film is co-written with his son, Pablo, as it is inspired by their relationship, what the director describes as «a kind of autofiction.» It is such an autofiction that Colomo himself is the protagonist of the film, joined by one of the most successful actresses of recent years (and Goya winner), Carmen Machi; Antonio Resines, a long-time collaborator in his filmography for nearly half a century; and the great José Sacristán. The complex cinematography, which uses six simultaneous cameras, is handled by the prestigious and multiple award-winning (five Goyas, one EFA) José Luis Alcaine, who has worked with all the greats of Spanish cinema, from Carlos Saura to Pedro Almodóvar, Fernando Trueba, and Fernando Fernán Gómez.

Fermín, an abstract painter facing a personal and financial crisis, lives in his friend’s studio in Madrid. He hides a tremor in his hand and initially refuses to enter a competition. However, he changes his mind after receiving a foreclosure notice and with the unexpected arrival of his son. Together, they will try to overcome their differences to create a modern version of Bosch’s The Garden of Earthly Delights.
