Actress Leticia Dolera (known for ‘Rec 3: Genesis’) made her directorial debut with a charming urban comedy, very much in line with feminist indie cinema akin to Greta Gerwig or Miranda July, focusing on the challenges people face in their thirties. Fresh, highly personal, and brimming with positivity, the film follows the journey of María de las Montañas, an aimless young woman without a partner, home, or job, who channels all her efforts into becoming what others consider a ‘normal’ person. The director herself plays Maria’s role. The film participated in the Málaga Film Festival, where it won three awards (for Cinematography, Editing, and Best New Screenwriter for Dolera), and received three Goya nominations, including Best New Director.
Maria has turned 30 years old. And now she has an immediate goal in life: to become a normal person. But first of all she has to discover what this implies. Is she already a normal person? What does it exactly mean, to be normal? That question goes deeper in her mind as she goes around asking herself the same question. After a while she creates a list of those requirements needed , and she starts a journey to reach them all!
