NORTH TO PARADISE

Based on Ousman Umar’s autobiographical novel, the film tells the miraculous story of a young Ghanaian man who arrived illegally in Spain and was taken in by a family in Barcelona. He went on to complete two university degrees, a master’s degree, and founded the NGO Nasco Feeding Minds. The film boasts an exceptional production team: Atresmedia Cine (MARSHLAND, THE REALM), A Contracorriente Films (THE DISTINGUISHED CITIZEN), and Ibón Cormenzana, a producer known for hits such as THE BEASTS and ROBOT DREAMS.

Based on the true story of Ousman Umar, a young Ghanaian man who leaves his village attracted by the idea of the “land of the white people,” a distant place that fuels his curiosity. After a journey full of obstacles, he arrives in Barcelona and discovers that life there is not as he imagined it. Until he meets Montse, who welcomes him into her family and offers him not only love and support, but also the possibility of a future. Ousman not only takes advantage of this opportunity, but transforms it into something much more.
