The director Patricia Ortega continues her exploration of different types of sexuality in her third feature film. This time, she explores the complexity of transitioning and pregnancy as a trans man. Produced by La Claqueta (THE ENDLESS TRENCH, ADIÓS, THE EXILES), 9 MOONS is a dramatic comedy with a lot of feel-good movie elements, starring characters full of humanity, that talks about personal growth, the importance of never giving up on our dreams, and learning how to live with the ghosts of the past. Zack Gómez plays the lead role with sensitivity and conviction, wonderfully accompanied by Goya Award winners Jorge Sanz, Kiti Mánver, and María León.

Ángel is about to complete his gender transition process. Life couldn’t be better: he has just been hired as a personal trainer at the best gym in his city, Seville, and has always had the support and warmth of his family. But during a medical check-up the past reappears unexpectedly as he discovers that he is pregnant. From that moment on, he will have to rethink his present, his future, his identity, and even his own masculinity.
