Director Rodrigo Sorogoyen, who subsequently received an Oscar nomination for the short film «Madre» and is the author of the highly acclaimed «The Realm,» rose to international stardom with this movie. It is an intense thriller set in the sweltering August of 2011 in Madrid, where extreme heat, economic crisis, and the arrival of over a million pilgrims for the World Youth Day officiated by Pope Benedict XVI all came together. In this charged atmosphere, two police officers with conflictive pasts and violent tendencies chase a serial killer targeting elderly women, while maintaining the utmost discretion to prevent further alarm. The film is renowned for the captivating performance duel between Roberto Álamo (Goya Award winner) and Antonio de la Torre, and was awarded Best Screenplay at the San Sebastián Film Festival.
