Musician, writer, and two-time Goya winner Juan Manuel Montilla, “El Langui,” makes his directorial debut with a documentary produced by Morena Films (IBERIA, LOOKING FOR FIDEL). The film tells the story of a young woman whose life was shattered by an accident and medical negligence, yet who overcame all adversity through forgiveness, vitality, humor, and boundless energy, what she calls her “lust for life.”
SYNOPSIS
«The only thing incurable is the Lust for Life.» This is the existential motto of Desirée Vila, a promising acrobatic gymnast from Galicia who lost a leg during her teenage years and has managed to reinvent herself as a Paralympic athlete, communicator, and social media star. This documentary tells her story of resilience and perseverance, and how she has become a key figure in the fight for equality, inclusion, and visibility for people with disabilities.
