WHY WE LOVE IT
Morena Films, the production company behind the huge success CHAMPIONS, bets on a comedy that tackles the prejudices and conventions toward people with functional diversity. It’s a cheeky comedy with a touch of political incorrectness and some slapstick moments, directed by genre expert Curro Velázquez (screenwriter of BRAIN DRAIN), with a premise that references Billy Wilder’s classic THE FORTUNE COOKIE. Brilliant comedians Dani Rovira (Goya winner for SPANISH AFFAIR) and Ernesto Sevilla (CAMERA CAFÉ) take on the roles of Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau. They are joined by an excellent supporting cast, including Mexican star Cassandra Ciangherotti (READY TO MINGLE), Goya winner Antonio Resines, Almodóvar girl Marta Fernández-Muro, and two-time Goya winner, actor and singer El Langui.
SYNOPSIS
Javi, an inventor who invested all his money (and his parents’) in a prototype that was supposed to make him a millionaire, watches his dream turn into a disaster. Following his brother’s terrible advice, he pretends to have cerebral palsy to get a job that will help him pay off his debts. Things get even more complicated when he falls in love with his boss. Trapped in his web of lies, Javi faces the risk of losing his job, and the love of his life, along with the possibility of facing legal consequences.
