The most internationally renowned Chilean actor, Alfredo Castro (‘No’, ‘The Club’), stars in this psychological thriller co-produced between his country and Mexico. Castro plays a middle-class man who takes his children on a yacht excursion across a lake. When they come across another boat sinking, he refuses to lend assistance, claiming that its crew are suspicious. From that moment on, the drama unfolds, as newcomer Nico Castiglione explores issues such as family and class and racial prejudices, while narratively, the tension steadily and anxiously builds. Selected for the Miami and Tallinn festivals.
A middle-class father Ricardo takes his two daughters to their lakeside family house in southern Chile. Out on a yacht one day, they see three young local fishermen waving at them from another boat which is rapidly taking on water. Ricardo refuses to go and help, arguing they look suspicious, much to his older daughter’s exasperation. His prejudices will be the beginning of a tense journey that will not end well.
