Drama. Directed by Pedro Aguilera
Directed by Pedro Aguilera – whose debut THE INFLUENCE was selected for the Director’s Fortnight at Cannes – the story explores the cycle of betrayal, corruption, and abuse of power in modern society. Three legendary figures of Spanish cinema and iconic Almodóvar girls – the award-winning actresses Blanca Portillo, Carmen Machi, and Rossy de Palma – deliver a captivating tour de force. Inspired by THE HUNT (1966), the classic that earned Carlos Saura the Silver Bear in Berlin, the film honors the legacy of the original with a fiercely contemporary vision
Rosa, Blanca, and Carmen, three friends in their fifties, meet again after a long time for a rabbit hunt at Blanca’s country house near Madrid. Rosa brings her teenage niece, Diana, who doesn’t really know why she’s there. As the hot day goes on, the women’s problems come to light‒divorce, money issues, and drinking‒and old tensions start to grow. Their reunion slowly turns into a day full of conflict, leading to a tragic ending.
